Requirements for applying for Vietnam pre approval visa letter
As a result of bilateral relation development, exchanges of visitors have been increasing substantially. It’s the Vietnamese Government policy as well as of Vietnam Consulate in Nepal to make the visa application procedure simpler, quicker and more convenient.
Following are the requirements for Vietnam pre approval visa letter:
1. Original passport (expiry date of passport should be at least 1 month longer than the applied visa validity)
2. Fully filled-in Visa Application Form
3. 01 passport-size Latest photo with white background
4. Air tickets
5. Hotel bookings
6. Photocopy of passport
– Nepalese Nationals: First page
– Foreign Nationals: First page and Nepal’s Visa page
Please Note: For Business Visa, you will need an Authorized document (Approval letter) issued by the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) or the Consular Department/ Ho Chi Minh city Department of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). You must ask the business partner/ Inviter in Vietnam to get it before applying for the visa.
Types of Visas:
- One month single entry
- Three-month Single Entry
- One month multiple entries
- Three-month multiple entries

Visa Exemptions:
Holders of normal passports issued by the following countries do not require visas for Vietnam.

* For Russia and Belarus: A gap of at least 30 days between two visa-free visits is required and have a printout of onward ticket.
Holders of diplomatic or service category passports of Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Côte d’Ivoire, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, North Korea, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Venezuela, and holders of diplomatic passports only of Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Israel, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland and Uzbekistan do not require a visa to visit Vietnam.
Holders of Certificates of Visa Exemption do not require a visa regardless of nationality.

The Vietnam Consulate, Nepal maintains and develops relations between Vietnam and Nepal. The consulate organizes events and promotes trade, investments, culture, tourism etc between Vietnam and Nepal. It provides services such as legalization, translation etc and also provides all the necessary services to Vietnamese citizens in Nepal.
